3 Outdoor Nonprofits Making a Difference

Spending time outside has the power to educate, heal, and connect us, and these nonprofit organizations are proving just how impactful that connection can be. From restoring public lands to empowering youth through outdoor education, these groups are protecting the natural world while also strengthening the communities that depend on it.

Here are three outdoor-focused nonprofits making a difference in Colorado and beyond.

Lincoln Hills Cares is opening the outdoors to future generations. By providing outdoor and environmental education, cultural history exploration, and career development programs, they help youth from under-resourced communities discover new pathways and build confidence in nature and in themselves. From equestrian programs to historic preservation, their work supports equity, access, and leadership in outdoor spaces.

2. Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC)

📍 Statewide in Colorado

Whether it’s trail restoration, invasive species removal, or wildfire recovery, VOC empowers people of all ages to get involved and give back to the places they love. Their hands-on projects help protect the long-term health of Colorado’s natural spaces.

3. Conservation Lands Foundation (CLF)

The Conservation Lands Foundation is dedicated to protecting America’s National Conservation Lands—a vast network of public lands that includes deserts, rivers, canyons, and mountains. CLF partners with local communities and grassroots groups to defend these landscapes against threats and ensure they remain protected for future generations. Their mission supports biodiversity, climate resilience, and indigenous stewardship.

At Crowd for Causes, we believe that a powerful mission deserves a powerful digital presence. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we’re partnering with the Conservation Lands Foundation to migrate their website to the Duda platform. The Conservation Lands Foundation is on the front lines of protecting America’s public lands and waters—spaces that are essential not only to our country’s identity but to our environment, economy, and communities. Their mission is clear: to protect, restore, and expand the National Conservation Lands through education, advocacy, and partnerships . From national monuments to wilderness areas, the Foundation works to ensure that these irreplaceable landscapes are safeguarded from exploitation and preserved for future generations. In the face of mounting threats—including the largest public lands sell-off in U.S. history—their leadership is more important than ever. With an unwavering commitment to advocacy, they amplify the voices of people who believe that America’s public lands are not for sale .

At Crowd for Causes, we believe in using design to drive impact. That’s why we were proud to partner with Conejo Free Clinic , a vital nonprofit offering free medical, dental, and legal services to those in need throughout Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. For over 40 years, Conejo Free Clinic has served as a beacon of hope for individuals and families who face financial, systemic, or language barriers to care. From routine medical checkups and dental cleanings to complex legal guidance, their team of compassionate professionals and volunteers ensures that no one is left behind. Whether it's a patient receiving life-changing dental work or someone finding legal clarity through a volunteer attorney, the stories of transformation coming out of this clinic are truly inspiring. When Conejo Free Clinic approached Crowd for Causes, their website didn’t fully reflect the life-saving work they do every day. Our mission was to create a digital home that’s as welcoming and accessible as the care they provide .

Every spring, Breckenridge restaurants face the same challenge: a noticeable dip in foot traffic once ski season wraps up. But thanks to an innovative partnership between local restaurants, community leaders, and the team at Crowd for Causes, the 2025 Breckenridge Dining Passport is changing that narrative—and making a real difference for both businesses and students. This digital dining passport, featured recently on CBS News, offers locals and visitors access to exclusive deals at 30+ Breckenridge restaurants. For a small fee, diners unlock limited-time offers while supporting a larger mission: funding scholarships for local students.
